Mutu & Oxcon nominated for CCNZ Award

Mutu and our customer Oxcon have been recognised as finalists for Excellence in Sustainability Innovation for their partnership, “Material Reuse Made Easy with Mutu Technology” at the 2024 Auckland CCNZ Construction Awards.
Mutu CEO Ben Redwood was very proud of what the team had achieved “It is great to see our team get recognition for all the hard work we have been putting in. Reducing the carbon footprint of Aotearoa is something we are very passionate about and awards like this drive up exposure and help get Mutu’s inventory management tool into more companies hands”.
Matt Mules, General Manager at Oxcon gave some insight into why Mutu has become an important part of their organisaiton “Sustainability has always been a foundational aspect of Oxcon’s operations, with a longstanding culture of material reuse and waste minimisation within our projects. However, the challenge was in capturing these efforts quantitatively and showcasing their impact in a measurable way. This led to our strategic partnership with Mutu and the adoption of them for our inventory management”
Using Mutu, Oxcon have achieved some incredible results, demonstrating construction sustainability innovation across their projects backed by results including:
- $133,000 saved in material costs
- $14,000 saved in disposal costs
- 60+ tonnes of materials reused
- 8.29 tonnes CO2-e diverted from landfill
- $295,000+ surplus materials listed
