The history
Urry & Burgess Construction (UBC) delivers residential and commercial projects across Auckland, from new homes, renovations and extensions to commercial construction, refurbishment and upgrades. With more than 25 years of collective industry experience, the team places a strong emphasis on planning, communication and quality workmanship.
UBC began using Mutu in February 2026 to bring equipment, vehicles, inventory and materials into one shared system, adding 100 items in the first month alone. The register has continued to grow since, and today covers 140+ active resources with seven team members sharing access.
Charlie Urry, Director at UBC, says: “Before Mutu, information about equipment and stock could sit with different people or in different places. Bringing it together has given the team a much clearer starting point when they need something for a job.”
The opportunity
With its resources centralised, UBC has used Mutu to place all request for the resources across Mutu through the Mutu app. Request activity picked up fast: monthly volume grew more than 3x in the first 3 months, and has continued steadily as more of the team adopted the platform.
Claim requests have resulted in the team reusing more than $1,400 worth of leftover materials that would otherwise have sat unused on one job rather than being put to work on another.
Charlie adds: “Having bookings and claims in the same place has made the process much more consistent. The team can see what is available, request it and keep things moving without having to work out who has what.”

Results
UBC now has 140+ resources recorded in Mutu and seven users coordinating equipment, vehicles, inventory and materials from a single system. Of the 89 requests placed to date, 68 have been bookings and 21 have been claims — clear evidence the platform is being used for both day-to-day equipment coordination and internal reuse.
With more of the business visible in one place, UBC can check what’s already available before hiring or purchasing something new. As the register and request activity continue to grow, Mutu will help the team coordinate equipment and materials more consistently across residential and commercial projects.
